VCMod Bug
Just to start off, I love VCMod, I think it is one of the best scripts on this site. However, I have one small bug that always seems to weave its way into my servers. For some odd reason, whenever I fresh download VCMod from this website and load it onto my server (I use FileZilla FTP), it properly loads, but then I have no access to the administrative panels, nor do any of the commands work. When I type "!vcmod" into chat it just brings up "VCMod is installed.", and when I use the C menu screen to click on it, it does nothing. I tracked a weird glitch down in my server start up with "-condebug", and I spotted a strange instance where when I load the server, it says "VCMod: instalation complete, preparing to load data. VCMod: no addons found.". In further detail, the car's I am trying to use are LoneWolf's, or better known as [LW] Cars, which are listed in the acceptable car models to use with VCMod. I have them properly loaded, as I created the download list in my garrysmod/lua/autorun/server file, and I have the correct workshop ID. I also am (as superadmin) able to spawn the cars, proving that there are in fact addons available for VCMod to detect. This has happened to me before, and somehow I fixed it for the time being but I cannot remember how I did so. I have submitted a support ticket and attempted to contact freemmaann but he is a very busy man which is understandable. As I said before, I love this script, and I use it as a key point in my server so any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Hey. Sorry about that. Digging through a pile of mostly ridiculous-issues tickets. Mostly: "make this part be overwritten", "make this part compatible with this", "add this in", "this free feature you've added doesn't work, I want a refund" types. Priorities being the more serious issues, like this.
Same goes for steam chat messages. I have seen your invite, will aprove by tomorrow or today evening to try and debug the issue. Can't get much free time in regular work days to sort out all of these so they mostly get piled into the weekend.
Edited Actually.. Now that I think of it. I've seen the "No addons found" issue 4 times by now. Every single time it was caused by something going wrong through FTP transfer. Its missing some files, simple as that.
Try redownloading.
Bug has been solved! As explained by freemmaann, sometimes the FTP File Transfer fails and there are the occasional missing files. Some of these files are essential to the functioning of the script therefore when you are missing them, it does not work. The solution is you must delete all versions of the script that you have downloaded, even the one on your server currently, and completely erase it from your computer system. Then, re-download the script fresh off the gmodstore website, and place it into your addons folder. That should do the fix! After this it should be working fine.
