Post dox?

Want to know if I can post a dox on someone. Doesn't seem to be against the rules here or tos.

This person has been a major fucking thorn with his constant alts and constant scamming that he does. Really tired of him. I decided to take some time and dox him. I know gmodstore has his IP. He lives in the UK, where cyber crime is taken very seriously, so I was hoping to be able to maybe either get his IP from staff, or just give what I have to staff so that we can report him to the police for fraud, scamming, etc.

This is the UK website where we can report him: http://www.nationalcrimeagency.gov.uk/crime-threats/cyber-crime

So far, I've found his full name, his email, his main steam account login name, tons of his alts, his younger brothers information which he seems to use to scam and keep making alts, his age, his brothers age, his friends, etc.

Would be awesome if the staff could actually help out and file a report on this person. Really his IP is the only thing left that's needed. Once we have that, we can report him to the NCA.

An IP address in combination with personal data is considered personal data, as per GDPR we are not allowed to give you that information

#3

If I submit all the information I've found to you, can and will you file a report to the NCA?

#4

I don't want to get involved in this

#5

You're already involved in this though. He's using your site to scam people.

If you still don't care, do you care if I post the dox information in this thread?

#6

Do not post the dox information in this thread, it reveals personal information that you're not allowed to distribute about the user under European law, laws that we have to comply with. We do not have any obligation to take this any further, and I'm sorry we are unable to give you the IP, but even though he's banned it does not waive governing European law. I can't give you the IP, and I don't want to file the report myself.

Do you really need his IP though?, you already have his full name and younger brother's information, as well as his friend's.

You could just report that information to the police?, I'm sure they can trace that information down as you already know he's in the UK.

#8

His name is pretty common. An IP would really be the only way to actually have the police do something about it.

#9

You are intensely naive if you think the police are gonna give a fuck about gmod scammers

UK Police give many fucks actually. They are pretty aggressive against cyber crime. More so than any other country I'd say.

i reported him a few days ago for acting shady:

https://www.gmodstore.com/help/tickets/view/XKKepUZSS-yPDjbMFhvDtw

he got banned for being an alt in the end. I knew something was up with him though.

#12

I mean if you would like to report him then go for it yourself and you can bring people in to show more evidence. If the police want a statement from gmodstore they either give one or dont. publicly releasing his information wont do anything.

Thats my input on it.

Edit:

If you need his IP then gmodstore cannot release that due to the GDPR. Them doing so would be illegal and can have them shutdown, as for you getting his IP. You can do that yourself. If you have his full name then go onto the BT phone book and try look him up. https://www.thephonebook.bt.com/person/

#13

He's a 17 year old twat. Not gonna find him.

#14

Welp i didnt know his age since i dont know him. Well just contact the police with the information you have currently and they should be able to find him, also theres no need for the language. I get your aggression to him but still no need.

#15

Alright, well I submitted the report.

Marcuz The UK Action Fraud Police may or may not contact you. If they do, I hope you can share with them at least the information they might need.

It looks like we're not allowed to do that either. Only the police / investigative unit in the country of which the data controller or processor is subject can request information they need in the cases of

 (d) the prevention, investigation, detection or prosecution of criminal offences or the execution of criminal penalties, including the safeguarding against and the prevention of threats to public security;

and

(a)the prevention or detection of crime,

(b)the apprehension or prosecution of offenders

since our GDPR data controller (Henrik) is not from the UK (and the company is not either) we are unable to do so, even if they went through the Norwegian police they would still need to prove that the information is absolutely crucial for any of the above bulletpoints - only then shall the data controller give the police what they require, but not more.

of course I did not need to even reply to tell you this, but it's important to know your rights within GDPR. It's something we respect here, even if a user is banned.

#17

Wait a minute. Why would GDPR apply to you?

GDRP is an EU regulation. Norway is not part of the EU, therefore you have no obligation to comply with it. Secondly, if you have a GDPR data controller, Henrik, and they are not from the UK, it wouldn't matter. By definition, since it's an EU regulation, it would apply to all the countries within the EU.

Am I going wrong somewhere?

*Edit: Just read that since Norway is part of the EEA, the GDPR would apply. But UK is also part of the EEA. It would then seem logical that they have clauses which enable people to share information with law enforcement agencies within the EEA.

It doesn't, because directives are up to each country to enforce, GDPR includes a police directive (https://edps.europa.eu/data-protection/our-work/subjects/police-directive_en) which means we are only obliged to comply to Norwegian police. UK police has no jurisdiction over us either way.

#19

So it seems that you can give out the IP to law enforcement agencies, but you choose not to because you value privacy. Why should those who break the law get protected by the GDRP then I wonder. :>(

You seem to not understand GDPR, I can't be bothered discussing this anymore.

They have to go through interpol or Norwegian authorities.
