Probably see a lot of these, but I am looking for a new server host to perform 80-100 players on DarkRP. What would you guys recommend (Host/Package)?

In the United States

If you want a US server never buy an OVH reseller, you will never get players from the terrible ping, they usually just re-route from Canada to different data centers and I'd rather take an actual host inside the US than just being re-routed.

I use to use NFO which are pretty good but I found a new host called HostHavoc and they're exellient so far. CPU usage barely goes up, memory is stable and the ping is stable in the west coast.

Although they don't own their own data centers they still sell servers in the US (actual regions, not fucking canada) unlike most gmod hosts these days, plus their prices are just fucking amazing, $10/mo for 20 slots, plus there's a coupon alive for 5% off life time.

Anyways you can see HostHavoc here I'd really recommend them for US region hosting.

Not to mention, their support even on medium priority tickets is very very fast. High priority ones get answered before medium ones although, can't imagine how much false alarms have went off there :v

I've worked with https://crident.com/ for a while. I also know and have played on a lot of the servers they host, they perform very well and I can honestly recommend them. Check out their site for more information and you'll most likely be convinced.

I run a host called crident which might be worth considering.

here are some resources site: https://crident.com reviews: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/crident.com / https://hostpicker.net/companies/crident eye candy:

edit: please note that we are a primarily EU focused host - so maybe also consider GMCHosting for a more US dedicated host

I currently use GMC and they are an OVH resell. The ping has my player count dying as of lately as it used to perform excellent, but not anymore. I will take a look at Havoc thank you lunaversity. PS: For US Servers is Dallas or Chicago a better option as far as location?

It depends where you want it to be, I'd usually choose servers that are in my region (aka west coast LA). Although most gmod players from the US come from the east coast so Chicago would be a better option for more players, but the server I host for TFA is in dallas and we get lots of players.

I live in TX so dallas would give excellent ping and I am thinking would help out west coast as well, but I am not sure.

PS: Is Havocs machines solid to handle 100 slots? They only let u go to 100 and the price is good but I need performance.

Dallas would be great for South and East coast, here in the west coast I get about 40-60 ping on TFA's dallas server so I guess it'll help part of the west coast too.

Their machines are more than enough to handle it afaik. We run the nzombies server with more than 10 players and 60 nextbots and barely hit 6% cpu usage, ram is always solid too. My deathrun server got 24 players last time I checked the CPU and we went to about 5.something% CPU usage.

If for some reason your server can't handle the usage of CPU make a ticket and they'll increase your affinity, not to mention CPU priority is only $4/mo

Nice referral link.

Anyways, we use a managed dedicated server from NFO to host all our gmod servers and afaik, there haven't been any issues when our JB (70 slots), TTT (32 slots), and DR (20 slots( server get populated. We run 8 gmod servers and when about 5 of them are decently populated, the CPU usage doesn't reach near 50%.

If you're worried about FastDL I'm pretty sure most hosts (including NFO) include it free with a gameserver purchase and auto-sync the webhost with the server content and update the server.cfg.

Price-wise idk what you're looking at, but setting up an 80 slot gmod server costs $72 per month although you could try a 4 core unmanaged linux vps for $32 or a managed windows one for $47. If you want the ability to change the slots whenever you want, go with a managed vps or dedi. If you want to be able to host a lot of servers at a fixed price, then go dedi.

EDIT Just looked at the CPU usage today (5/5/17) and it was only 15% with 5 gmod servers being populated.

You should contact Ertug, as using GMC for along time, something like that has never happened to any of my servers.

I've certainly had no other reports of that specific issue on my end. No other company (except for our partners) has our custom VSE Guard 2.0 either, it's not like you would be getting anything comparable latency wise.

I still wish you the best regardless of where you may go though.
