Oh hey, it's me, your "dev".He ended up giving me a clientsided file version of santosrp, which I said would not work cause clientsided files.Anyways he said he wanted all the addons that I could get into his server, so a majority (like 95% of what he gave me) was from the workshop, and then I added some other stuff he wanted. I showed him proof of what I finished and that it was ready etc. and apparently he doesn't want to pay because something might be broken or something, but he could download whatever and just run off or something.I would also like to point out that I said I could purposely delay the time so it took longer and he said that he wouldn't of cared because it took longerso essentially I could have done nothing else the next few days and said that I was working. If anything I'l upload the files onto your server and if I don't get paid than I'l report.shrug

I had a friend give me those files from a past server he used em on and he said they would work so i said use these and he said they cant?

That's... really really dumb what you just said.

Your friend gave you files that were clearly leaked, and you're using said leaked copy.

I'm going to point this out ONE more time. We do not support ANYTHING SantosRP related. I spoke to the actual developer of the gamemode and he said that ANY copy is a leaked copy and he'd rather us not deal with SantosRP stuff. If you want, you can contact him directly and discuss it. As far as us, I told the developer that we'd ensure nothing related to the gamemode was dealt with here. There's no such thing as a "legit" copy of the gamemode, unless it's the developer himself using it.

Its only shawn who can make these calls as the company director, not Ultra. Altough Ultra may know what Shawn would say; Shawn can change his mind, or sell it without giving Ultra notice.

I’m not saying these aren’t leaks, but I am saying you’re speaking to someone who has no direct authority on the issue, making false statements like There's no such thing as a "legit" copy of the gamemode, unless it's the developer himself using it.. - Ultra has no inherent rights to the files, he's paid to do work for a company, and the work he does belongs to the company in entirety.

If you want to dig into the hypocrisy on what isn’t legit with santosrp - they're getting mad at people for stealing their files, and they built their entire brand on a stolen name. We all know "santos" comes from GTA V's map "Los Santos". They are being forced to change it because Take Two own the trademark which this infringes. The ironic thing is they registered this trademark to try and stop people running servers with santosrp as the gamemode... (citation needed)To add insult to injury santosrp is also built using models stolen from other games, including GTA V, too...(/citation)

From what I've heard Shawn has not given people the right to buy these copies, however what he has done is give people the opportunity to use the "SantosRP" name by paying him, since he realized he cannot control the leaks.

So they're not false statements at all considering the gamemode was never meant to be public, let's be real.

I don't even know who the hell "Ultra" is? I spoke to Shawn himself on his discord. I had him explain the entire situation to me, and then I let shawn make the call on what he wanted to happen, then I posted those logs for gmodstore mods to read (including nook). So no, I have no idea who "Ultra" is or why you would assume I'd think he's in control, because I contacted 3 different people who worked for SantosRP, and then finally one reached out to Shawn, gave me the discord link, and then Shawn and I spoke in DM for about an hour over the whole matter, so what I'm saying; COMES from Shawn. Otherwise me doing all that research would have been pointless now wouldn't it? That would be like me walking into a random gas station to see Susan behind the counter, I walk up and say

"Excuse me, in regards to SantosRP, what do we do about leakers"

Well, I imagine she's going to look at me with a fucking blank-ass stare, and no matter what she says: "Well yeah, sure, do whatever". I guess that still doesn't give me any real permission.

Additional note: The entire time I was hunting down who was in control of SantosRP, I was only ever given two names. Josh (being the old owner) and then Shawn (the new one) and I told all three people I spoke to, I wanted to speak with the current ACTIVE owner who has the rights to the gamemode, which then, was lead to Shawn.
