Help Me Price: Playable Portal Personality (Core)
Hey guys,
Just in time for (after) Christmas, I'm making a post about budgeting for my dream thing! I've been trying to build this thing for the longest time, and I thought it would be prudent to see if I could benefit from anybody else's experience before I tried to teach myself LUA.
The basic idea is a first-person... vehicle???? Playermodel?? Prop???? of a personality core from Portal 2. There's already a playermodel on the workshop, but if it's got faceposing, I haven't seen it, and I need this thing to be 1. expressive and 2. interactable as a physics object. Using the cores themselves as animated props with animation tools gets me close, but it's clunky to scroll through every animation, the physics aren't exact, and I'd really like something more... customizable? IDEALLY something that works with mods like FlexPoser to capture facial performance.
This is where I've been putting my various diagrams and prototypes, if it helps get across what I'm looking for.
So, to recap, I'm looking for:
- A 'playable' Portal 2 personality sphere model/vehicle/something with:
- Realistic, dynamic physics that respond to:
- Ability to move certain parts (handles, optic) on command. I'm kind of picturing the handles following face tracking and the optic extension using the scroll wheel?
Basically, picture Portal 2's single-player campaign, but it's multiplayer, and player 2 is a ball.
How much would something like that be likely to cost?
Thatd be pretty complicated to be honest, id say closer to $200 than $100
$200 is about what I figured too, thanks for responding!
