if you're planning to sell this addon (on SF marketplace or just as a job), please don't.

How would you even know what he's doing Chicken? No need to be so harsh.

http://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/GM/OnContextMenuOpen...

... will open when the user opens the context menu.

http://wiki.garrysmod.com/page/GM/ContextMenuOpen...

...will allow you to stop the context menu and create your own menu in its place.

Hopefully this helps.

I wouldn't know what he's doing, that's why I said if he's planning to sell it. ScriptFodder forums seem like a strange place to ask for help for an addon completely unrelated to SF, but who knows.

Your point? It still doesn't change the fact that you acted out before knowing his actual intentions, my stance still stands.

What do I have to do in order for you to notice the word if?

Better yet why feel the need to post his script on here as if you're trying to make a point?

He might not have known how to open the context menu, but he certainly knows how to make an appealing advert shortcut menu. What is your problem? Not everybody knows everything, even the best makes silly mistakes

In regards to the script I think it (from what I can see) is well written. But people have a valid point when they say some scripts were denied when alot more work was put into it than this, Not to mention more original. Mods needs to try and be more consistent when it comes to the rules of weather a script should be approved or not.

How can we know how much work was put into a script? People who are bad at GLua may but more work into their scripts that do literally nothing special at all than people who made something impressive, but are good at GLua. That's not really a valid argument in my opinion.

We try to look at the demand of a certain script, the connection between code quality, functionality, features and price advantages over current alternatives when reviewing scripts, if a script which is relatively simple has NO alternatives, then why should we deny it? It could be improved upon after release anyways.

In the end, weeks of work but a really simple and easy to make script is not better than days of work and a very advanced well made script.

I partially agree with Code Blue. I'm not sure if they phrased it incorrectly, but I think that some scripts were denied when they had a lot more functionality than this.

I agree with Marcuz that effort should not be a qualifier for whether or not a script should be accepted, but there are still inconsistencies with script acceptance.

My problem lies with the fact that in the past SF staff have been very quick to dismiss people for sub-par scripts and apparent lack of skill. Yes, not everyone knows everything. But on the other end of the spectrum, it doesn't take a genius to google "garry's mod open context menu hook" or just search for "context menu" on the Garry's Mod Wiki.

If ScriptFodder had a policy of letting anyone sell any script, no matter how poor their skill or the quality of the script, I would have much less of a problem with this. Their stated policy and previous actions say otherwise.

But 90% of the people on here think otherwise... They want us to be way stricter with the scripts we accept. No matter what we do not everyone will be satisfied

I guess the words I chose were not the best. I'm not saying I want the standards to be lowered (although I do, but that's not my point here); I'm saying that if the standards were lower, it would make sense for this addon to be accepted. This addon is worse than other addons that have not been accepted. It's the blurry quality standards that bother me.
