Edit

Not gonna help anyone expecting help after spending less than 1 minute writing something without any details and using server titles like these:

Could you give us some more information about your server? Gamemode, map, etc..

#5

Could be many things but heres the most common.

Your clients are suffering from a decade old engine error caused by a glitch involving decals on models. Simply throw this code into a new file inside of the lua/autorun/client directory.

hook.Add( "InitPostEntity", "join_con_commands", function()
RunConsoleCommand( "r_drawmodeldecals", "0" )
end )

That command basically disables model decals to clients upon joining your server. Simple fix for a complex issue.

Another possibility is the current exploit with Atags going around. Not sure how its performed but it also causes this same error. If the above solution doesn't fix your issues (it probably will) then try this.

Disabling decals wouldn't fix the issue, this is certainly something else. I assume this only happens on the client's on his server.

Again you need to provide more information about your server.

gmod build target x86, that's it

gmod can't allocate more than ~4gb of ram,

maybe it's even limited to 3gb if they didn't do the thing

#9

It's always worth trying it.

Typically though you have something that is completely destroying your server, most likely an addon. One way of figuring it out is to remove every addon and add them back one by one until you find the culprit. However you could just be trying to do too much on a Garry's Mod server (big unoptimized map, lots of players, lots of calculations)

My case was a problem in the gamemode, I had migrated a old backup which crashed with some newer scripts. Had to reinstall gamemode and redo everything, took me a hour / two and it was done. Still no clue why lua panic happend, my server got 16gb ram in a dedicated server. Noway the ram was to blame, but I got it fixed. Try to locate the problem to redo what you did before panic mode happend.

Asking us why with no more informations is hard.

Yes way the RAM was partly to blame. I don't think you quite realize what you're working with.

for the fucking love of fucking jesus read my god damn message

it has nothing to do with your ram, we're not in 1950; in 2018, when you don't have any free ram, it's going to eat memory space on your hdd/ssd.

It's related to the fact gmod is a 32 bits app, it cannot allocate more than ~4gb or ram, that's it

stop using 4k nude textures packs and huge maps

if you can code, do what the enb guy did for skyrim, code your external x64 allocator that will manage the resources of the game

Sorry about not answering. I fixed the problem. I had wayyy too many addons.

Can't you put r_drawmodeldecals 0 in autoexec.cfg on your server for it to work too?
