MilitaryRP setup
So I am trying to setup a MilitaryRP server. I forgot how to set the the default gamemode. I am using OVH so there is really no control panel to automatically set it up. autoexec.cfg- +exec "server.cfg"
Edit- All I have done is renamed the DarkRP folder to MilitaryRP and renamed the darkrp.txt to militaryrp.txt. Then edited the 2 ini files.
Stop renaming DarkRP, renaming the folder doesn't make it a new gamemode for fuck sakes.

I tried putting in DerivedRP previously but that wasn't working. I left darkrp in there and and renamed DerivedRP to MilitaryRP and it still didn't work.

Don't re-name the folder, it doesn't work that way.

Edited I am thinking something needs to be added to my autoexec.cfg file. It seems to be quite short. Also I am confused. In my files there is a server.cfg and a gmod-server.cfg what's the diference?

Usually you're suppose to set the gamemode in the commandline. Same with rcon password. Just keep it darkrp and change the files that make it MilitaryRP to the master list.

Yeah, don't have access to the command line for the night. Was just trying to edit the files to set default gamemode. That is the only problem I am having.
If you don't have access to the command line your host should allow you to do it through their site. (such as in NFO's easy setup menu)

In the autoexe you need the +gamemode "name" I think not sure, but to rename the gamemode rename the folder, the darkrp.txt, the init.lua and cl_init.lua ( It's a long time since I did it but I think that was all ). But I would advice you to just rename your servername to MilitaryRP and keep it as a darkrp gamemode the darkrp gamemode list is far bigger and more players browsing it. Also its actually nice to keep the original gamemode name to properly credit the authors behind it.

Are you using Linux or Windows, and is the server being launched with a .bat or .sh file? What do you type to launch the server?
Don't help this guy, seriously... People that rename DarkRP should never be helped.
Little off topic, but do we really need another rp clone? Garry's Mod is already saturated with thousands of dark rp servers.

I could get behind an idea like that. Although we all know there'll be some aids community which will "trick the system" into giving them their own master folder. Then everyone else will follow and the whole concept will fall.
Remember, this is Gmod we're talking about...
