Is the buyer of scripts on gmodstore insured against fraudsters?
Billy unreasonably revoked the license. When the license was revoked, a refund was made to someone else’s PayPal account.
The administration closes the ticket before the problem is resolved.
Quote Nobody: "He refunded half of your purchase already, it's the creators choice if he wants you to use his addon or not and based on how you were acting I understand why he revoked it from you."

Or does Billy have the right to take my goods simply because he wants it?
Who wants to buy a reputation with Billy for $ 150 to help solve DRM problems?

He not only violated my rights, but also spoke indecently in my address!

I'm not very sure that this is legal.
That is, I buy scripts on gmodstore.com, if I am not immune from the elementary negligence of the developer?
I'm sorry that you have had a bad experience on our platform,
Unfortunately our stance is that the addon author has his right to not give you a full refund under any circumstances, especially since it warns you before you purchase the addon that it contains DRM. GmodStore's official stance is of course that we do not endorse DRM services as they do put the customer at a disadvantage, but there is no rules preventing an addon author from charging money to gain access to a non DRM version.
I understand your issue here, but I also believe the addon author is within his rights with the information he gave you and refund he gave you because you did not comply with his request. Please give the addon license a read, and be extra vary of addons containing DRM (they should be labeled as such, visible on the addon page) if you are in need of DRM free addons.
I'm also sorry that you were being addressed in a non satisfactory way, this is of course not something we want any content creators to do. It could be he's stressed out and easily affected by certain things right now. It's unfortunately too easy to forget that you are dealing with real people, who also have emotions sometimes after a lot of repetitive support work.
I don't actually understand what you mean by "a refund was made to someone else’s PayPal account.", did you not receive the 50% refund?
Very nice to meet you, Marcuz.
Unfortunately, no, I did not receive the funds. Because this account belonged to my old friend, with whom I can no longer contact.
In addition, I did not request a refund, I would like DRM not to decide what I can use on my server and what not.
I want to separately note that at the time there was no DRM conflict information and confusing code. If you look at the story, then when I bought this script, there was no DRM at all.
And the only thing that caused a negative experience with gmodstore is moderation, which closes the problem with the ticket, which casts doubt on the reason for the existence of this system. The actions of the moderator made me feel that the site administration was corrupt, which, by the way, for me, as a citizen of Russia, is a sore subject.
By understanding the life situation Billy.
After the conflict, I tried to contact him and resolve the problem peacefully and adequately.
I understand your predicament where your old friend was the one who got refunded the money, but unfortunately as there's no way Billy could have known that, he just refunded some of the money to the PayPal account that made the payment.
I also understand that you did not request the refund, and that it came as a consequence of a misunderstanding between you and Billy.
Let me try to explain why the DRM did not work for you, I'm sure you've been explained this twice already, but let me try to explain it a bit differently. The backdoor finder you have installed on your server "detours", meaning it changes the behaviour of a common function in Garry's Mod called "http.Fetch", this function as the name suggests is used to grab information from a website on the internet. And when the function is detoured the function does not work as expected, and the request never reaches the destination, so it can't grab the required information that the addon needs in order for the DRM to work.
This is an issue because that backdoor finder won't only affect the behaviour of DRM, but it could also affect any other addon that uses "http.Fetch" for more peaceful actions, like grabbing the latest version number from github for instance.
I'm sorry that our moderation team closed the ticket, but you have to understand that to us as a team this looks like an issue we should not really poke our noses in, yeah, sometimes we may do a bad job with certain tickets and situations but that is something we're trying to solve internally by creating guidelines to follow. In this situation there's really nothing we can do, I assure you we take the buyer's side as much as we take the content creator's side and that we are not corrupt, but we could of course do a better job in some situations.
I am sorry we are unable to help you much in this situation as it's really up to Billy but it has been complicated because the addon was bought by your old friend who you no longer have any contact with
This was purchased prior to this DRM? I can see a very simple solution here: download and use the version prior to the DRM.
Hi, freemmaann.
I wanted to do this, but they took my license.
After that, I asked for support to resolve the conflict, but they just closed my ticket there.
Of course, I understand what motives he sent the funds to that account, but this does not solve the problem.
Billy's thoughtless actions led to these consequences, so in this case I was left without compensation and without a script.
It is not my fault that the PayPal account being used is not yours. It is standard procedure to refund the money to the account that sent it. I am not going out of my way to send your personal account a refund when I am not even obliged to in the first place.
Regardless, you purchased bWhitelist on the 5th December 2016, meaning you got 2 YEARS of use out of the product. Your $6.29 did not go to waste.
Dealing with you was not worth the time, effort, stress, and the $6.29 itself, and therefore I decided to end your current and future custom with me. This is within my rights to do so, with or without reimbursement.
These events unfolded as a direct result of your actions: purposefully being difficult and uncooperative. This opinion was seconded by a moderator at the time.
GmodStore.com would never allow developers to revoke licenses without reason and reimbursement, and has not done in the past. While this is completely legal, as per the license agreement, this would not be acceptable behaviour for a developer, and there have been occasions where action is taken against developers who've done this, including myself. In this situation, not only did I have a justified reason to revoke your license, I reimbursed the account 50% of what it paid, even after 2 years of use of my product.
I have broken no rules, I have broken no laws and I have ended all current and future business with you. It is very unfortunate that you have tried to defame me with your melodramatic language and attention-seeking text size. Please finally stop wasting my time and the staff team's time, as nothing you say is going to make me want to do business with you.
Billy, I am very sad to realize that you are using the connections in the gmodstore administration team for your own purposes.
If you had answered my questions and statements, no one would have made unpleasant statements about you. You not only slandered me by calling me an accomplice to the leak, you also took the license without a good reason, justifying it with a compensation that I did not even receive.
I'm not talking about your boorish behavior, to which the administration of gmodstore also closes its eyes.
I came here to resolve the issue in a more peaceful way.
"a more peaceful way" does not include making a public thread.
Unfortunately, there is no other choice.
As I said earlier, Billy closed the ticket on his website and revoked the license, he ignored any other means of communication, the ticket from the support service was closed by his moderator manually. No one solved the problem.
There is only a forum.
