My future and the future of my GMod products

Heyo, customers of GModStore. I know I haven’t been very active in this community for around a year now. I’d like to make a public statement regarding my Garry’s Mod addons and the future for them. I’ve already told some of my customers about this in support tickets, but I feel that this is the best way to go about it.

So, updates on my addons have been very sparse, no doubt about it. For a while I thought I could just sit back, do the minimum required and one day I’ll make a big return and find the passion behind programming for GMod again, and I really needed the money to pay back some outstanding debts, but after doing some soul searching, I realized that I want to move on and create cool shit for people in ways I’ve never done before.

It took me a long while to come to this decision, I thought that if I walked away now, I’d be letting my customers down. However, being quiet and doing nothing about it is obviously the worse choice. With that said, I think it’s unfair that I’m still charging full price for my addons since I’m not going to be providing the kinds of updates and support I was once known for. This means that until further notice:

All my addons will be the minimum price. ($5)

My GModStore products will be sold at a AS-IS basis and without any guarantee of support, updates or maintenance.*

I am willing to provide refunds**

*If a bug is reported is a major security issue, like a duplicate money or a crash exploit, then I might fix it. Again, it’s not guaranteed.

**Open a support ticket and give me the e-mail associated with your PayPal. I’ll see if we can work something out. It’ll depend on whether or not I can afford it or how long ago you’ve purchased my addon. Please note that if I give you a refund, you won’t be able to re-purchase the product.

GModStore, and its predecessor CoderHire were amazing opportunities for me. Supporting ARCBank was actually my first “Job”. It helped give me confidence in my work and gave me proof that I could sustain myself through creating cool shit for people. I’ll never forget the project that really sparked my entrepreneurial spirit and the support this community has given me over the past 4 and a half years. ARCBank 1.0 was released on March 31st 2014, and the Beta was released on December 2013, that’s... a very long time, and in that time, I’ve learned so much.

So I want to say from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. Thank you all for this amazing opportunity to make money from creating cool shit for you guys. While I am officially and heavy-heartedly putting this chapter of my life to a close, this definitely isn’t the end of me creating cool shit for people to enjoy. I’ll always have a passion for that and that’s a promise.

So… What have I been up to?

Well, a few things are in the works:

1. I’m slowly starting a local IT business, and I want to do commissions for website building.
2. I’ve been dabbling in Unity and I want to release my own game one day.
3. I’m big on Ethereum, it’s really awesome. So I’ve been creating some stuff for that platform, too.
