Question regarding leaking
What exactly prevents someone from putting your name on the license.txt and getting someone banned that didn't even leak it?
Just from taking a look inside the license.txt it'll show who bought it, Who they bought it from and what they bought. Nowhere on there does it say a ID to prove that they own it, Only a date on it.
It definitely wouldn't be a bad suggestion and may lower the chance of someone getting banned for not even leaking.
That local copy of license agreement is for the buyer, not for the seller.
We have other means to verify whos copy it really is, which can not be faked (for all intents and purposes).
I know, But I was recently showing aritz a leaked copy of arcbank and I looked inside the license. So my guess is that creators use the license to figure out who owns it.
Thats why I thought that someone could just put name in it and someone would be blamed

As I've mentioned before, no we do not.
If sometimes the unthinkable happens and the leaker is older than 12 years old, he might even think of removing the license file, yet we still easilly verify whos copy it is.
Anyway, point is, a simple text file which anyone can edit at any time is not proof and definitely not something to be banned for without further investigation.
Ah okay, I just figured it out or at least in one of the scripts I own
