Owner Starter Guide - Addons
Hello! I'm intending to post this as a config kitty who doesn't know what he's doing but wanted to give a list you can possibly follow for simple things to use in your DarkRP server if you're a first time owner.
Administration - SAM - Simple to use and the standard for other than ULX
DarkRP Modification - Every server needs this to edit everything darkrp related basically
Prop Protection - gProtect is my personal go to since a different personal favorite is now unsupported.
HUD/F4/Scoreboard - Onyx. Personally all of Onyx's products are very nice and clean and have a nice uniform to them once using all together. Can also use with other addons like Onyx store. Gives players options to change themes as well.
Zones - Timmy and Kobra's Zone Creator is a must if you wish to have spawn protections and other related zones to be safe and un-rdmable
Logs - Billy's Logs - Billy has also had a standard of must haves for server owners for quite some time. While there's plenty of new comers to the scene, Billy's will always be a personal favorite and works well out the back.
Warn System - YAWS - A personal favorite after trying many system
SpawnPointManager - If you're looking to change the spawn points for certain jobs here's your tool
SimpleMount - A simple way to mount addons in-game or force mount addons players might be missing without restarting
Specific creator addon sets.
Nexus Unbox/Inventory/Party/Job Creator/Clans.
Craphead's Mayor/Notifications/NPC Shop
Zero's stuff. Most of zero's addons are good money makers, and people love em
Xenin Deathscreens
Money Makers
Mining - A simple to use mining system that has a nice store in-game
Entity Based - Kevlar factory - Cigarette factory -
Levels - ELevels is a simple to use system that actually works, given how many break nowadays
Will change and update this list as time goes and as players remind me of certain things
Nice list, and probably useful for those looking to start something from scratch.
I, of course, am a little biased, but I would recommend ULX for an admin system as it's free and still pretty much the standard if you don't care for modern UIs.
Also, shameless plug on my own warning system: AWarn3. I've been working on it for over 10 years now, and with over 300 online servers using it at the time of this post, it's probably the most popular on the market. YAWS is very nice too, definitely to each their own.
I know awarn is very popular, there's also an admin system that's free with a hosting service...can't remember which one though. I definitely see the appeal of AWarn3 but after trying YAWS I'm definitely a big fan. In my experience i don't see it used too often too
For any new server owners I'd also recommend these:
MRS - it allows to make ranks and give them to people (essential for any starwars, miliraty or scp rp)
Perfect Hands - has some very nice animations for roleplay & can replace the grav gun
Edge Suite - this is a all in one website with more features than any other, its also self hosted so you're not at someone's mercy (you keep it forever with no risks of the servers just shutting down like cosmocloud did)
