Can I have a clarification on some rules?

It's the principle of this situation.

I am very confused considering the person that got my friend not only cheats, but actually makes cheats. Not only makes the cheats, but posts the code publicly.

That's like saying hackers can't become security consultants or work for companies to protect them.

lemme re-introduce myself. I'm fairly known in the gmod community. I'm a reverser/coder/whatever guy and have been involved with gmod for like 10 years by now. I I've written countless scripts, found countless exploits, written cheats, anticheats, reported exploits, sold some exploits, sold scripts, sold cheats, sold anticheats, got on gmod credits, was once banned from FP for exploiting, yadayada.

I've done plenty of stuff, but either way, I don't do any harm to anyone nowadays. I'm not as involved in the community. I pretty much just make products using my accumulated knowledge and try to satisfy my customers. I don't go on peoples script pages and try to attack them on a personal level without even owning their scripts.

And pretty much, that's kinda why your friend was banned I guess. Writing "hey this cheat bypasses the script! I'm sure it does! you're just being DELUSIONAL! Just give up trying to detect it haha!" is not being constructive in any way and especially if your friend gets detected & banned makes it look like he's just trying to advertise his cheat& at the same time salty about his ban.

Especially considering he pulled up a 2 year old project from my github, spams my comments now once again and is ban evading.... ( https://www.gmodstore.com/scripts/view/4976/discussion#reply-385 ) I feel like the ban was justified

Maybe so, but still I want to know for sure what I asked.

Also, why are scripts allowed that are 500lines, they are not creative, completely broken and impractical, these scripts should not be allowed, I.e simplac shit anti-cheat

(the script isn't 500 lines and he's using leaks, the leak is ~500 lines long)

Nah, we really need a rules section on the website clearly stating rules so people aren’t banned for, “rules” that are not listed anywhere and so the rules aren’t gossip, but rather fact. We need a clear rules page, that simple.

My point is not that ares should be unbanned. My point is why are there no definitive rules. Why was he banned for cheating and not for advertising cheats. Or spamming, or whatever else he did.

there is though, it's the golden rule: use common sense

if ur too stupid to use common sense get off the site (which it seems like you might be)
