Need some help related to Securegmod aswell as a script that is disabled.

So about 5 days ago I opened a support ticket to Velkon asking the following: "Basically I'm msging to ask if there is a active securegmod subscription for this addon? I intend to actually use this however I want to make sure I can use it at all. seeing that it uses securegmod and is deactivated is rather worrying."

Reason I'm asking him is because seeing as he has securegmod on it but I have no clue if the addon has a subscription or not leaves me a bit worried. Its only $5 but at the same time, I'm now out of an addon to work with if this thing isn't on a subscription. while I have quite alot of issues with securegmod working on my servers my test server hosted in my own home is the only thing that seems to actually allow the scripts to run. my goal is to work with the addon in question and make it compatible with something other than ULX. However this is pointless if it won't run at all thanks to securegmod.

I've tried contacting Velkon here via support ticket, I went to his profile on steam to try and leave a comment there however some sort of weird thing is going on with his profile and I can't comment on it but the box is still there to type, I've tried contacting meepan aswell over discord but no response.

If anybody has any info or help it would be much appreciated as I'm at a loss here. I bought the addon a while back planning to use it later after setting up other things and then would work on enforcing compatibility with serverguard and gbans but right when I come back to the addon all of this has happened and apparently from what I'm aware of I'm screwed in a sense.

tbh it seems that velkon just left, if it's disabled and there is nothing in the changelogs , he gave the addon up

Well he does have 2 other addons aswell still running. If he's not going to support his products I'd like to get GMS involved then and have their thoughts on the matter and what I should do in this situation. Its kinda poor taste to give no warning what so ever about abandoning support and no information on if it will even work, especially considering how annoying securegmod can be as a DRM

no it's not

only people who don't know shit about computers/servers (which, is by the way a requirement before making one ;) ) have problems with it.

Literally 99% of the time problems are caused by a misconfigured firewall.

again, velkon fuckedup, not gmodsecure/securegmod

If he's not going to support his products I'd like to get GMS involved

I'm sure a mod will do something about it

actually, some things are out of the server owners hands. there are some hosting issues that can cause a perfectly normal functioning server to not allow securegmod to work properly. some hosts activly block certain things such running over ports that typically a server would never need. this would include the ports used for securegmod to work right. you can ask billy that. he's had to deal with me in support tickets countless times over and over again. no matter what securegmod scripts refuse to function on my servers regardless or redownloading it and uploading it or downloading it directly from gms from the vps itself. Every attempt has failed, prior to that I ran into authentication issues with sgm where it would connect but the server name would never change back to what its supposed to be.

Securegmod can be rather trouble some to handle, Velkon is just an added pain ontop of this nice little icecream desert

Securegmod is only using the default http(s?) ports plus the one used by the server

That would explain why it would not work for some people. There are hosts who block port 80 and other ports that really aren't the best idea to use. there are legitimate security issues to be concerned with ports that the server would not normally use for the hosts clients.

But I'm not here for a discussion on the flaws of securegmod, I just need help with figuring out how to either get this thing up and running or to get velkon to atleast respond to the ticket or something to fix the situation

Just checked, it's not using 80 but 443 (which is https), blocking 80 would break A LOT OF THINGS

Edit :

post and fetch on 443

I'm not interested in talking about securegmod and why it doesn't work on some hosts. if you don't have any help to offer in regards to the issue with velkon please stop. I'm really wanting to get this solved as I have alot on my todo list and the sooner I can wrap this issue up the better.
