I'm like the only one here who hasn't bought food at all off my Gmodstore income. I just move the money off PayPal into my bank and save it for whatever I may need it for, I still live with my parents. Bought my mom a $200 gift card to some clothing store for Christmas today though.

No, because people will expect to get equally as good gifts every time, and it makes actual special moments even more expensive, or not special at all because you can't afford an even more expensive gift than usual :)
Plus there's the feeling they get when they feel obligated to get something equally as expensive for you, when they may not be able to afford it.

I'd also like to add context to this.So, Ben's boiler broke. And the timing was bad and he didn't have much money at the time. So, as a result, he had to sell his bed in order to afford to pay for the boiler. "True" story
