Where Should I Look For A Model Port Commission?

Hello! I'm pretty new to a lot of things in the GMod community, but I was looking around and found a reddit post suggesting this site to ask around on. So, here goes;

I found a model of a character I love, Mithrix, in the steam workshop. Only issue is, he's an SFM model-- and I wanted to try to make him into a GMod playermodel. So I tried several tutorials, several methods, even asked for help in the GMod official discord. But I just keep hitting walls, and I'm getting frustrated. So, I had a few questions to ask about this.

1: Is there a certain place best to look for folks who will do that kind of thing as like... a commission or something? Or are there any widely reputable modelers/porting masters the community knows really well?

2: About how much can I expect something like this to cost? Mithrix is very similarly shaped to a human, but he's... not. His proportions are just a bit off from the base GMod skeleton rig, and he has not only much broader shoulders, but a bone for his eye, and specific bones for his clothes.

3: How long would something like this take, and how complex would it be? Like I said, the model already exists, I just am not sure how hard it would be for someone who knows what they're doing to make it a GMod playermodel.

And 4: If there is no one who is able to port the model and convert it, would anyone be able to help guide me through my current issues with this endeavor if I were to post what I'm dealing with? The furthest I ever got was getting a playermodel with the correct...ish model, no hand in the first person view, no animations, and no textures. Trying to figure out the mess that was the bones so I could at least animate him gave me a headache and I still have no idea what's gone wrong with the model itself.

Thanks so much for reading this, and I really hope someone out here knows something that could help!

hey happy to answer you questions

1 _You can either post the commission onto the Gmod store job section or by contacting freelancers like either other freelancers or me, to request a commission directly. You can look from their reputation and join date and portfolio. That's how you can find trustworthy.

2_, you can expect as low as 20, 30 up to 80, 90, in certain cases above 100 if the model has a lot of body groups or is meshed dense, but on average it's always between 30, 60. Third, and not to talk about other things like eye tracking or finger rigging and many more, which can bump the price. The price I give is purely just rigging and importing.

3_thing, it can take as minimum as 2-3 days up to a week in best case scenario. If something wrong can happen, do this estimation and every freelancer have their own time and price. Some people can finish it within a day, some people can take days, some people can take weeks. It depends on their workflow.

And remember, the things I'm saying just based on my experience. If you're looking for cheaper, you can always go for newly freelancer or people that want to learn more and get paid. But if you want experience, you always pay higher.
