Changes regarding pricing
We've just made a change regarding minimum pricing of jobs and addons. Jobs now need to have a budget of at least $5.00 as anything below generally is a waste of time for any job taker. We've found that people usually undershoot the amount of time it takes to finish a job, thus also undershooting the value of the finished work by a lot. A $5.00 minimum will not help in that case, but it will ensure that "quick and easy" jobs aren't posted for something ridiculous as $1.00.
Addons have also received a new minimum. The old minimum was $0.01 (I know right...), the new minimum is now $4.99 (DLC is $2.99) as we feel that a lot of developers really undershoot the value of their work as well. In the grand scheme of things $4.99 isn't a whole lot of money and shouldn't impose much of an issue for any of you customers. Previously people have been able to "sell" addons for less than what PayPal take in fees, meaning they were getting a whopping $0.00. Existing addons that are priced below $4.99 will stay at their current price. However they can not be updated without also updating their price.
**I would also like to note that any content creator who uses a discount to display a lower price on your addon without it being based on a time limit or an actual sale should cease doing so as it misleads the customer and it's illegal in a whole bunch of countries. **
$5 job... hm, could you please code my darkrp jobs for me good sir?
This really changes the game. Hopefully people ( including myself ) can stop riding each other about the prices now.
What about the DLCs? Do they entered in this $5 addon limit? I take for example the bLogs Discord Relay, I don't think Billy wants to put his little DLC for $4.99 and nobody will buy it at this price if you enforce it...

Jokes asides, i think it's a terrible idea, right now i'm 100% sure ezjobs will get zero (or almost) sales, simply because the competition is selling it at $9.99 and mine is now sold at 4.99 (round exploit bb)
ezJob is working fine but is not updated, there is point to sell it at $5, plus no one buys it at this price

I do agree with the monkey above. Some scripts should not be at $4.99. I understand the fact that scripts at $0.50 give nothing to the seller (due to the taxes), but $5 looks too much. Some HUD scripts can't be at $5, especially if they are old. I can't see this, this and this (which are only a few examples I had in mind) at more than $4.99.
However, I think it's a good idea for jobs. The job system involves the fact of making a contact between the person who resquests and the person who applies, to understand what he wants and to make it. This could be long, so I understand this limit to not create a job at $1.00 which has litterally no sense since you lose a lot of time. But scripts are what the sellers want to provide. These are his scripts, his features and the price which deserves his creation in his own opinion. A limit at $1 is a good idea to not avoid people who loose money (which has no sense at all), but $5 is too much between these little old scripts and these DLCs....

I personally think it could sell for $5, it's a pretty big script with an even bigger functionality, and lot's of possible updates.
The original script is at $7.99 which is a pretty good price at all. However, the DLC is only a system added to the original script, which is (I suppose) little in terms of code. I don't think he wants to put his DLC for $5 while the original script is at $8. When you sell a game for $60, you don't sell a DLC (not the Season Pass!) for $40 (or they are scammers)...
Everything is only my opinion tho. If buyers don't care about it, then we sellers also don't care about it since it makes more profit for us. Let's see if increasing the prices of our scripts change our amount of sales..

Damn dude, you pretty much nailed that argument. Good shit!
I've reduced the minimum price of DLC to $2.99 - as I do not think cheaper DLC should even be DLC to be honest and rather just be a part of the addon itself.
Hey I'm just trying to disable support on my scripts (I'm outta here boys). I don't think it would be fair to increase the prices just to disable support on them. Can someone manually disable support for me or will I need to just take them down?
so basically every addon creator can put 5$ and make a discount to have it 3$ permanently?

no
When will this start to become enforced and how will it be enforced?

It has already changed, but I will not force people to update their script's price if it's below $4.99 as I stated in the original post

I disabled support on them for you

I think it's pretty dumb not to have an option to let them have free prices. If they're doing a small script they want to share without really getting money, but a few cents, why not letting them?
Then this should be on garrysmods.org (or the workshop) - not gmodstore.com
Think this is a fair deal and win for developers however in contrast, $5 is still quite a small amount especially since paypal eats a large portion of it up.
I'm currently facing an issue where I wanna bump my prices to $5, but I have several competitors who have yet to do so. I'm worried that because they'll then be cheaper than me, I may face issues as I've basically undercut myself. Any suggestions? Should I bump prices and hope for the best or should I just wait till they do it first?
