Advent Calendar 2019

Our Halloween sale this year as a bit lackluster due to time constraints of the entire administration team - but fear not! The advent calendar will be back for 2019!

As with last year, here's how it works:

Starting at the 1st of December through the 24th of December, everyone who has spent more than or equal to $10.00 at GmodStore will be able to open an advent calendar square daily for a chance of winning an addon completely for free. Everyone can enter for a coupon for an addon. This means that if you come back to GmodStore every single day from the 1st to the 24th you will have 24 chances to win something. Surely you are bound to win at least something?

What do I have to do as a content creator?

Go to one of your teams and start opting your addons in to the event.

May I change my opt-in settings after the 1st of December?

Unfortunately no, we lock the opt-in submissions at the 1st of December (UTC timezone) automatically to avoid ending up with either less, or more addons in the collective quota than we anticipated.

Do you get notifications as a content creator when an addon is given away for free or as a coupon?

Yes!

Why is there a limit to how many addons or coupons I can give away?

Last year we made this tweak due to people saturating the event with a whole lot of their own coupons.

Why is there a $10.00 minimum to use the advent calendar for free addons? This is unfair!

This is due to concerns about users registering multiple accounts to gain an advantage.

Will I receive an addon I already own?

No, you will not

Can I receive DLC for an addon I don't own?

Nope!

How will the addons/coupons be distributed?

I'm glad you asked! Here's a distribution chart we took our time to make:

this means there's roughly a 10% chance to get a completely free addon if you've spent more than $10.00.

Here are the stats from last year:

27911 squares opened

1089 addons given away for free

12692 coupons given away

3214 unique users used the advent calendar at least once

Nope. Unless the author adds them to the advent calendar, but if they are disabled it's likely they won't.

We made some updates to the advent calendar design this year, hopefully this is more pleasant to look at compared to last year:

Another update:

There are already 38 307 coupons and 1 588 free addons opted in to the advent calendar.

Awesome! You have no idea how much joy I had last year opening those squares. I got 5 free addons! (some that I was hoping for as well!) Quick question: Once you get a free addon from the calendar, can you then get the DLC for it via the advent calendar? (assuming the DLC is opted-in)
