Hey Crap-Head, wow thank you so much for this detailed feedback! I really appreciate the help!
I'll take your points into consideration and when I have time I'll get to work on some of these.
Some notes:
- Pulsar Effect was indeed the gold ol' days. I remember racing back then fondly!
- About the HUD and styling: I agree I'm not the best at styling, but I've made the UI in such a way that using a skin you can completely customize it to your own liking. My idea was that devs could make a way nicer looking version than me, resulting in more variety between different servers that use this gamemode.
- There is a minimal speed-o-meter in the bottom center :)
- Nice idea for the health indicator, thanks for the inspiration!
- The lobby-mode could use some work and your ideas are very helpful, I've noted them down on my TODO-list.
- Good point of the F1 menu not being visualized in this listing. I will get on that and add images of them this weekend
I've noted your other points on my TODO-list and will get to that in the near future.
Thanks again, the support is much appreciated!
Nostalgia to Pulsar Effect and the good old days of GMod Racer <3
Here's some feedback/suggestions which could help overall improve this and bring some more sales:
- Update the HUD
- Modernize the checkpoints and health views. The race positions and the two other elements don't really look a like IMO?
- You could get a color scheme from any AI now a days, with some fresh colors :)
- The health/armor bars and icons could surely be modernized as well.
- Add a turbo cooldown indicator visually on the hud?
- Speed o meter?
- The health indicator could be done with a thermometer. I worked on gmod racer 2 at a community that bought it 13 years ago from the creator. Feel free to get inspiration from this
- When the players are just in lobby mode (not racing) you could have a HUD with their cash shown as well? How many players are queued for racing, button to queue, etc.
- More images
- Your video shows what I assume is an F1 menu? With general, daily bonus, collection, etc. You should upload some pictures of this :)
- Player overhead hud
- Displays player name, rank, flashy with ranks (configs) and so on. Just a little addition that looks nice.
- Default configuration for more cars
- You could pre-configure some popular car packs (TDM, LW, etc) with the gamemode and advertise it as such. The addition of buying other cars (not just the jeep) is a very good selling point.
- Some UI nitpick
- The X is not centered

- The tabs looks glitchy
- No spacing and odd placing of logos in the tabs?
- Generally if you're struggling to make the tabs look good, try another alternative? Create buttons and Paint them in a nice style, then use them to create pages on the parent.
I honestly feel like this has huge potential and your pricing is low IMO, so there's a good chance that some improvements to the overall visuals would lead to more sales.
GLWS!
Correct Cheese Man, players start off with the jeep, but can buy other vehicles you configure as items. You'll have to code those vehicle items according to the documentation.

So other vehicles are addable now right?
Thanks Indecisive

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your work. It reminds me of the sold old gamemodes posters in the store.ย
I made a small improvement in the latest version (1.1.0) that allows a coder to create items in the 'vehicles' category. With this you can let players buy vehicles to replace their default Half-Life 2 jeep/buggy. Included in the gamemode is an example that shows how to create a 'Jalopy'-vehicle item.
You can find more information on it in the documentation, which shows how to add a corvette using a workshop vehicle. Use this to determine if this functionality sufficiently fits your needs before you make your purchase: https://luttje.github.io/gmod-racer-redux/#/Guides/adding-a-vehicle-item
Hi Cheese Man, not at the moment. The gamemode is designed around the half life buggy. Players can buy parts to customize that.
However since you're the second one asking in a short time I may implement that in the future. Keep an eye out on the store page for any changes, I'll be sure to advertise it clearly when/if it becomes possible.

So would this work with other car systems available? Like TDM cars in the workshop ?
Thanks Nykez
