I have not heard anyone complain about it not being optimized enough. You can always limit the maximum amount of fires allowed at the same time. You can pretty much adjust it that way.

What is so special about the fire truck included? Is it a dependency for anything? As I would like to use Williams Car Dealer to dispatch the fire truck.

If the addon shows no signs of presence on your server , remove the upper-case and the space in the name of the addon folder ( darkrpfiresystem )

A friend of mine known as Ares bought the script, and for the life of me I cannot get it to work. I have not changed an core files and I am running a server running darkrp 2.6.2 with default core files. Any word of advice?

It supports 2.5.0 and up. I've answered this multiply times in the comments. It supports all versions after 2.5.0.
