WholeCream Eh, not 100%. A common misconception is decompiled output will only have local variables renamed and that's it. However, it will also have plenty of references missing and some control flow just broken entirely or mismatching with the original. It's just something one doesn't really notice when compiling 100 lines vs e.g. 10.000 or 20.000

stuff like decompilation fucking up hard (people probably can't tell because they lack the original code)

Most upvalues getting broken (aka a local variable outside of the current stack frame) exists. Notice how "uv0" is unresolved. The decompiler can't resolve the majority of these.

It's more akin to hitting F5 in IDA rather than a two-way relationship, even if in the case of Lua or LuaJIT BC there is more similarity to the language being used than in e.g. C++ and x86 ASM. Or, put simply, one can't just decompile and run the decompiled code.

Well for the bytecode thingy...

If someone where to reverse it back into lua, it would just look like an unminified script, where all the local variables are basically randomly named like "L_VarXXX"

PSU yea I can see that destroying performance as it's basically a Lua VM.

Hey everyone,

please redownload the latest version to fix your build, API changed

For what it's worth, eProtect has helped myself and our server plenty of times. It's banned about 20 people attempting to run an exploit since I input it. That plus this would probably be pretty worth while.

WholeCream 0% of Modules were ported, 100% of the Code is new. The detection method algorithms from the old AC were revamped as well because in the old AC they weren't finetuned enough. It's in bytecode because that way malicious users may not get the original lua or tamper with it directly. Even if cheaters do decompile it, the output is like hitting F5 in IDA. Put simply due to the way upvalues and slots work in lua you don't get "runnable code" and can not modify the original code. Before you ask "why not use PSU" -> performance. This is a performance-centric Anti-Cheat which should preferably also work for i.e. Servers with 128 players.

It's good to know there is still an anti-cheat dev working on making some unique methods.

I've seen your work before, and I noticed that in your past anti-cheat it had some false positives with things like minor mouse movements, spamming attacks on low tickrates, falsely identify players who aren't using aimbot and etc.

I'm assuming you took some of the modules from your old anti-cheat and moved it over to this one.

Also why is your protected code in bytecode? Wouldn't you assume that some cheaters already know how to convert bytecode back in lua? I'm assuming you mixed up some of the opcodes to make it a bit harder or mixed up a bit on how instructions are read.

And lastly, eprotect, yea it's kinda useless but that is only if you cannot manage taking out exploits yourself. I find it kinda useless though since there is already an exploit mitigation addon on the workshop... And it's maintained pretty well...

Is SAM supported?

LeystrykuAuthorposted

@jacksontravisripper I don't develop for eProtect. However, eProtect gets rid of many net exploits from workshop addons and more. Even if eProtect does not help against novel exploits, more protection never hurts.

JacksonTravisRipperposted

eProtect is quite literally a waste of money, that shit helps no one.

Thank you for your precision.

éxotic Keep in mind, for full protection you definitely need LSAC and possibly eProtect. SwiftAC will help you catch the "small cheaters" and the injectors, but it will not help you catch e.g. methampetamine. LSAC meanwhile catches all of them, but isn't there to detect a injection - instead, it's for catching cheaters when they cheat. Lastly, for exploits, eProtect will ensure that even if they for example use console commands or weird things to exploit your server - it will stay safe

éxoticposted

Thank you, i think i will buy SwiftAC. Have a good day

LeystrykuAuthorposted

éxoticHello, this is a Anti-Cheat not Anti-Exploit. If you want something for exploits you need eProtect. If you want something which bans for injection, SwiftAC.

éxoticposted

Leystryku Hello, i have a question: Does your addon detect mod menu (to exploit exploits, inject backdoors) as well as injectors and inject files without our knowledge? Thank you in advance.

DesertedCake Glad to know you're not an AntiCheat developer. This detects them all too, and more. To put it in laymans terms, comparing gAC to this is like comparing Windows Vista to Windows 10

i only purchased this cuz of the video

DesertedCakeposted

Nathan.Smiley you're better off getting glorifiedpigs' anti-cheat. The only AC I saw besides Sentinel that is capable of detecting BigPackets, CHK, and meth (at the time). What's even better is that it's free.
