Best place to advertise servers?
Where is a good place to advertise your server? I've looked around and to my knowledge its not allowed here or FP or really any other forum, That being said do any of you guys know where a good place to promote your server is?

When you say THE gmod server list what are you referring to?
Like 99% of people looking to find a server will just join whatever is popular or based on the name of the server. Just put all your important shit in the name of the server (wire, m9k etc) and keep your name short.
Don't ever go on somebody else's server and spam your ip, just ruins your reputation and makes you look desperate. If it's new just advertise a free VIP in the name or something. It won't affect your server too much since only like 2 of the people you give it to will actually continue to play.
The best way to get popular is get a few freinds in the server and mess about till somebody joins, then make freinds with whoever joins.
Well, last time I hosted a server and got it popular, it was mostly just inviting friends. When you invite friends and when/if they find it interesting, they'll get their friends to join and play with them, then their friends and so go on. Expect that then It's mostly to have a good and interesting server name and make the impression on the new players as good as possible. Saying welcome, sticking around with them etc won't help much since you don't have the time to do it with everyone, so the spawn for example would need to seem interesting.
F4 menu for example, if It's hard to navigate or simple is confusing, then they might not find the server interesting. Same thing goes for the map.
Again, the best way is to invite your friends and make the server as interesting as possible.

I wish that Facepunch/Scriptfodder would add a server advertising section, Impose sanctions on it, and only allow one bump per 24-48 hours...
I had an idea awhile back, and I may still do it. The Minecraft community has websites that are nothing BUT server advertisements, so I was thinking of doing something along the lines for Garry's Mod.
Offer the user the ability to sign up, upload a banner, add a description, link to a website + server, and tags.
What do you guys think?

There are some ways to get players, it depends sometimes on the gamemode and the playercount. I acually run 4 Servers and only one of them is well visitet (over 700 uniqued connects in the past 3 weeks) and the other Servers are most time empty or some players are online. When you have something that nobody else have its easy to get some players but an Private gamemode will not work every time. And there is an way that some Serverowner just have luck like they run a DarkRP server with just Workshop stuff and laggs all the time but the server is full.

I guess GameTracker is like kinda like this minus the whole banner and voting system.
Sounds like a cool idea some private servers for MMO's do this too.

Some advice:
I've had experience on this, I hate it when people go out of their way to make something I was going to make (even when I state I wanna make it) this happened a while ago and it probably feels uneasy for nooky that you just took his idea and just did it yourself.
Second piece of advice learn: https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_tables.asp I don't know why you're using columns when you can use tables just as easy and more organized.
Last but not least: Should at least try to make a more unique design it looks like every other server listing site but with materialize.

This is something I literally made in a few hours. Also, I didn't use tables because I like the responsiveness, but that doesn't seem to matter now that I think of it.. I might as well switch to tables. I know this looks like every other site, but I didn't care to think of how to make it different. How would you make it unique?

EDIT2: I didn't do it for just myself.. I did it to get a basic idea of what people would want. Some people like visuals.

I like your design and think that this is something that would be helpful, but promoting your site as reputable and a good server list is also half the battle.
Can see a decent sum of mula being earned via server advertising page which would be only for Garrys mod ( Including some ads here and there and skids paying some cash to highlight their ''communites'' ) A bit odd that nobody done it already.
