Changes regarding pricing

#41
Would price increasing also mean increasing quality of scripts or are we still risking money

Quality...๐Ÿ˜’

By starting from cheap scripts a coder could gain reputation before moving to more advanced works.

They can use the jobs section or the hire me forum to gain rep.

Or the workshop, or garrysmods.org.. baby's first addon should NEVER be a paid addon, nor should anyone submit addons with the sole purpose of making money, programming is a passion thing. Pay attention to your products, improve them and make whatever you feel like. Open source is a big part of programming, and unless you feel like your code is good enough to be sold, then just don't :)

This is such a hugely important comment. How are you supposed to improve without posting free work? You can only read so much documentation, there is ALWAYS a better way to do something or an exploit you are creating. Posting free work just gives you a huge test group that can give you suggestions and patches to make your work something worth posting for sale.

Hmn I don't know, maybe Facepunch, steam workshop, GitHub, etc. Hell, have you ever searched for Gmod lua on Google? There is plenty of stuff out there you can learn from.

Setting a standard isn't to limit new developers, it's to protect mostly server owners ( the once that pay for content ) from poorly made exploitable add-ons.

You don't have to be a lua god with 10 years of experience to code something worth selling, just take your time, take advice from others better than you and you'll manage.

There's a million places that aren't a marketplace that allow you to release your free stuff. We do not have any reason to accept free projects, nor do we want to.

Oh I totally agree, I didn't mean that this should be a place to post free work, as it SHOULDN'T.

Setting a price minimum (in theory of course) just increases the quality of scripts that will flood the market.
