This is the "clone" of Permanent properties. They are both the same script, and lapin did it first. They both let you buy houses and keep them when you leave, they both let you own all the doors.

This is the original one, done by lapin. This one allows you to do a little more, but they are BASICALLY the same script.

What are your thoughts on this?

These 3 addons are all different. RocketMania's is very overpriced and well, outdated. This is an alternative for William's House Rent system which includes an NPC aswell: https://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1400737

And Lapins system looks pretty cool but more for bigger maps like evocity etc. And I am pretty sure there is a free alternative on RocketMania's script..

You need to understand that most of the scripts you linked were made 2+ years ago. Standard have changed quite a lot since then. Most of these scripts would not be accepted today. And it's unfair to argue that the scripts should be disabled. People will vote with their money, no need to disable them. If they're bad, no one will buy them.

Did you even watch the demonstration video? Even if it didn't have a console command to do all the stuff for you, its not like its difficult to type "getpos" in console anyways.

The point of Nordahl's scripts was user-friendly UI so they could be used by mere admins in-game, not a developer with an access to FTP/server. For example, Nordahl's spawn point could be placed by admin ingame and changes would be made without having to restart the map. I could make different events without restarting the map! Only now noticed Nordahl isn't active anymore, wtf happened? And here I thought at least gmodstore saved from weather >_>

All his scripts got disabled for being bad and not following the gmodstore standards.

His scripts are working at least, unlike yours :P Seriosly, I learned of SF because of spawn points the server I played on used. And as far as I know there's no russian server (in swrp at least) that doesn't use them. I can only imagine what happened if Nordahl decided to turn off his remote drm system. Take no offense, but your scripts in first post are no match for his.

Nordahl's scripts worked, but they "worked" horribly. The reason I made bWhitelist was because I got requests to make it because Nordahl's script wouldn't stop crashing servers and slowing them down... I'm sure more of his other scripts did the same shit, but I wouldn't know, because I actually buy quality scripts.

Eventually, Nordahl's scripts will be remade by others who can actually code and hopefully, servers should catch on and use the new systems, which are obviously going to be better. His code was horrifying, and shouldn't've been accepted in the first place, really.

None of the scripts on this thread were made to be sold, that's why they're free. The point is, the scripts made here are showing that the scripts they're remakes of don't really need to be sold, as free alternatives could easily be made. Of course they will be "no match" for Nordahl's scripts, as those scripts have been commercially set up so that they can be configured and deployed on masses of servers. Nobody is really "trying" here, and if they were, they would've released them on gmodstore for a premium, or at least released them on the Workshop or something.

You get what you pay (or don't pay) for.

Appreciate the motive to get more quality in scripts but maybe create high quality scripts instead of even worse remakes of scripts that you think already are bad.
