Bad script cloning thread
Basically, you're on the market, known as a good coder amongst masses because of the pioneer Nordahl who prepared the customers for your better (no denies) alternative so you'd won them from your rival in what could be called a fair competition. Although I can mark two major advantages of his:
- When buying Nordahl scripts, the customer recieves full code which allow them to customize it, adjust to their servers however they want, while certain alternatives could be used only as is without any way to improve or learn on the code.
- Nordahl's scripts are ready out-of-box & bugless on almost any configuration. Unlike, for example, advanced rt cameras which didn't work at all more than half of year! Lots of negative reviews, yet never to be removed from the market. Or I could mention, I guess, Loki611's scripts, which while interesting in function aren't working to the full extend of advertised features - I'd recommend you to compare his code to Nordahl's, yet it was never so heavily critisized to be completely removed from the market. I can remember runescape chat message which doesn't support utf-8 chinese or russian fonts (I'd praise google translate if only it worked in that case), yet never critisized and still present on the market.
I'm no friend of Nordahl, we're not acquainted, always spoken through support section striclty in a manner of business, yet I feel an urgent need to defend his honour here as he was the reason my server and many others are present in Garrysmod. For example, one of the first and the biggest russian communities TLC entroduced other russian communities, such as SRSP, StarBell, StarFront and StarLine (surely many others, but I can't be sure on their behalf) to Nordahl's whitelist and spawn points and through these scripts their owners were acknowledged of Gmodstore existance. I know that by the summer one of our current biggest rivals StarLine used version 3.1 of Nordahl's whitelist and 2.5 of spawnpoints, and were quite happy with them. Surely, there's no limits to perfect the code, yet not a lot of coders are willing to actually do it. Nordahl, in opposition to his many rivals, was always polite and patient with his customers, never showed a hint of bad manners or intolerance for the newbs. Unlike some other scripts (for ex, forcefields) which were added and soon forsaken, Nordahl never ceased to make solid free updates (not some minor fixes, but actual new functions), and surely he could be critisized for some functions that could yet never been added, but it's always easy to make excuses than actually do something, which is shown by the lack of 'better coded' alternatives on the current gmodstore market.

You get what you pay (or don't pay) for.Appreciate the motive to get more quality in scripts but maybe create high quality scripts instead of even worse remakes of scripts that you think already are bad.
I totally agree. Stop trying to remake some "bad" scripts. Plus you can say what you want but :
- He get originals ideas
- He always fast answer to tickets and he's really efficient ( for example, I question him for optimizing my server. He takes a lot of time by sending me a lot of long messages to help me )
- For me, all of he's scripts are working

I'm sorry but his code is terrible so I doubt he's properly optimizing your server, and while his customer service may be in decent shape - he's in no shape to actually sell anything.
You say he has original ideas, but the majority of his scripts are the same thing with a few lines of code changed, or one tiny feature changed. How is that being original?
Also I could create a script that makes an API request 1,000 times a second and it'll still work. Will it be good? No. Does it follow good practices? No. Is it still working? Possibly.

And it's shit and not even close to the real thing. What does that prove? A bit like saying i remade vcmod in 7 minutes and record myself spawning a car in the QMenu and attaching lights with the toolgun. Looks similar enough but it's just not even close.
I mean you say "hehehe lol i can remake stuff in 10 mins these scripts are so shit look at me so pro" build some pathetic shit and say "lol ofc it's not as good i only took 7 mins".
