@molmatt9 No system can be perfect, but that was the reason behind damage grace - the first person to make a shot is the one treated as being at fault. As long as you're not the one to make the first shot against someone RDMing, you'll be free to mow them down without penalty. In addition to that, votes fall down from highest punishment to least, so one person RDMing his friends to get them to vote for a lower punishment won't have any impact in other players voting for a more severe punishment.

In my experience with TTT, RDMers and trolls usually swarm servers in packs. So what exactly is stopping a group of idiots from rigging the votes so they don't get punished, or even using votes against innocent players?

How does the script activate? When an innocent kills an innocent? Or by an admin. When does the vote window appear?

Out of curiosity, I was wondering if you had incorporated what a previous commenter had stated about a setting that would just allow the script to work normally, but only when there are no users on above a certain rank or if it does not work when there is someone of a certain rank on?

SunziAuthorposted

@MPGH You haven't purchased the script. If a server owner is having trouble getting it setup, they can post a support ticket and I'll gladly help - but judging from your account I'm going to assume you're just using a broken leak.

@Naunuk You can modify the required vote amounts inside the config - I've gone into more depth about this in the reply to your PM.

@Vinarirra That's best handled by a separate addon, especially since people use a wide variety of different reporting systems and I don't know all of them.

how do we change the amount of votes required.

Can u add this: If a traitor didnt shoot and get killed he can report him.

@Sythril No, sorry, this is specifically made to work with TTT.

Can this be used for any other gamemode besides TTT? Ex: DarkRP

@Velkon - I did not apply for the full time coder job, I merely gave my opinion on how he wont find a coder based on donation percentage.

Regardless, I am a coder, and am more than capable of adding what I want, however with a full time job among other things, I don't have time to code everything I want for a GMod server. Also, since this is a paid script whose function is specific for one task, there's no harm in giving the creator a few ideas on how to make this script better. I'm still going into the script and modifying it for compatibility with my addons - however there's no harm in giving the creator a few ideas that will help make this script better for everyone.

@Fafaffy Didn't you apply for a "full time coder" Job? If so, Why are you asking so basic questions?

I am using this addon http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1460909

@Bzzlightyear You can already define what groups are considered staff and then have voting disabled when staff are on. SourceBans support depends what SourceBans addon you're using, seeing how there are a bunch of different ones - give me a link and I'll add support for it in the next update.

Missing in Actionposted

Could you make it so that if a certain group is on the server this is disabled and also add sourcebans integration for the banning?

SunziAuthorposted

@ServerError404 Just sent out an update fixing a bug - included that along with most of the requests here with it, since they didn't take long to make. Compound voting will have to wait until the next one, though.

Vernoctusposted

Glad to hear it's coming soon Sunzi. :) Also I'm inclined to agree with ServerError404, that would be a nice option.

ServerError404posted

On the server that I administrate, we currently use RDM Manager, and it might be confusing for some users on whether they should use the Justice system or use the RDM Manager reporting system. Can this addon be configured so it is disabled when an Administrator is on? Ideally, this would be good for use when no addons are online, and users can take care of RDMers themselves.

SunziAuthorposted

@Fafaffy No worries - whatever makes this addon best suited for your server :) In the next update, I'll go ahead and add an option to disable during overtime and a revote command if they picked an action. As for stopping consistent petty RDM, I'll be adding an alternative to the votes falling down to a lower vote functionality. Right now, if there's 1 vote for slay and 2 for kick, while neither meets their individual goal, the 2 for kick will fall down to slay and activate it. With a compounding vote system, votes won't fall down, but they will persist past the round you voted for them (and decay at a rate you can define, so you won't get slain for teamkilling 2 people accidentally over 5+ rounds). This will allow someone to be teamkilled over two consecutive rounds by the same person, vote slay both times, and get it activated.

AeonPurchasedposted

Alright, that is a fair point. Then is there a way to remove a slay if the victim so chooses? Lets say they both talk it out afterwards, and the victim wants to forgive the attacker. Also, how about consistent RDM'ers? I understand if someone RDM's 4 people, we can choose to ban him. But what happens if he RDM's 1 person every round? We should be able to ban him in that case too.

Lastly, in my server, you're allowed to kill on suspicion in overtime. Can you add an option to disable the system during overtime?

I'm sorry if I comes across as troublesome, however I find a lot of potential in your script, in which the community can deal out punishments to other users. However, there needs to be certain safeguards to help against abuse since this script is doing actions based on the words of a random individual (and not a staff member who understands the rules). I'll definitely be purchasing this in the near future, though; it looks really amazing.

SunziAuthorposted

@Fafaffy From what I looked at the RDM Manager (assuming you mean the one in Tommy's damagelogs), this shouldn't have any incompatibilities, but it also doesn't make any special considerations for it. Seeing how this system is meant to be as out-of-the-way as possible, I'm against adding anything that would require user input like entering a reason. I'll also see what I can do for near-missed shots. @Vernoctus Yes, I'm well aware, and will be getting that out before I work on anything else as long as no bugs crop up first. Sorry I've made you (and others) wait so long :v

Vernoctusposted

This looks like a good script, I'm considering buying it. But I would also like to remind Sunzi that some people are still waiting on that update to the interrogation script that was promised "soon" almost a month ago... <_<

That's not to say Sunzi doesn't typically have high quality scripts. I fully recommend them, if you're considering buying one.
